EPISODE 28: JSS VS HCIS
And we WON! I would like to thank Mr Wan, Mrs Aidil, Constance, Aernira, Bryant, Joan, Shawn and all those who helped us with the ideas and scripts and rebuttals. To people like Asriq, Ahmad, Farahin, Soff, Amilia, Hayati and the whole of ELDDS for giving us the support. (Hope i dont miss anyone out?) Ok anyways, we took a long time to reach the venue. I dont think the bus driver knew where Paya Lebar Methodist Girl's Sec Sch was so we wasted alot of time. We rehearsed abit only on the bus except for me. Cause as third speaker it is not as if what i have as rebuttals, the proposition would mention. So all in all, i did not rehearsed at all. When we reached, we did not have enough time to calm down coz we were late then the debate is gonna start soon. I only had time to go to the washroom (they converted some of the girl's toilets to male toilets coz they are a girls school mind you, and no, there were no urinals!) to prep up and put on the blazer. On first look at the Hwa Chong people, they look very confident ok. We were like very nervous, but i tried not to show it coz i dont want the propo team to know that we were nervous or not they would walk all over us. And they look very rich ok. Some of their students like rich man's son and daughters. And what made us more nervous was because they had trainers and teachers that came down to help them. We only had dear Mr Wan. And their teachers were ang mohs somemore, so i assume they must be very good with all the help. *Sighs Basically kudos to my team. The girls did not disappoint. I was VERY impressed they did not get their nerves get the better of them. After everyone gave our own speech, the judges deliberated, and announced the winner. Which they mistakenly said Hwachong to win at first then the head judge actually made a mistake. It was Jurong la who won. Durga said she almost cried when they said Hwachong won. -.- TATAS! |
