EPISODE 9: WHAT A SMALL WORLD
I just realized how small the world is. I mean not in terms of size but connnectivity, people getting connnected in ways well beyond the imagination of the ancient greeks and egyptions. Advancement in technology, the internet and whatnot is a frontrunner in the blame or praise of this whole thing. In a small community like ours, i feel that sometimes, you cant run away from the fact that someone you know might know someone you know whom you know knows you and that someone is dating or quarelling. And oh, there is the gossips and rumors that you yourself cant run away from. An example : I know K from a few months back. Then i started to hangout with F but only for a few weeks then stopped. However, i checked K's blog and there is the url to F's blog. Its not just plain coincidence when u live 15 mrt stations away from each other right? Then (here is the interesting part), my cousin knew M who happens also, to be linked to F. When u live 20 mrt station away, coincidence? Oh yes, and the world is getting smaller day by day, hour by hour and every second. It just tells you how you need to be nice to everyone coz if you create trouble with someone from the north, the west hears it and pass it to the east. So ya, be careful. And, i also realized that ive been reading books halfway and then changing to another one. Iam so fickle for godsakes. Here is a list of books i tried to read this holidays: 1) Memoirs of a geisha by Arthur Golden (early till mid nov). Read 3/4 of it then lost interest coz i forgot that ive started reading the book now its M.I.A. 2) The lover by Marguerite Duras (early nov). Library book.Read the first page (maybe 2) then put it down somewhere in the house. Found it only yesterday. A month overdue. *gasps 3) Nineteen minutes by Jodi Picoult ( late november). Bought the book coz cover looked nice. Read 5 pages on the train and thats it. 4) Princess by Jean Sasson (mid december). Gift from aunt in dubai. Finished reading in four hours or so coz needed a break here and there. I have an attention span of a fruitfly. P.S Only book i managed to read fully this holidays yet! 5) Vibrator by Mari Akasaka ( Mid december). Read 1/4 of the book on train ride. Continued abit then stopped. The book has alot of vulgarities la. Very intensed also. 6) Life of Pi by Yann Martel (NOW!). No comments but it's a pretty good book actually. 7) Seven types of ambiguity (soon). Another book from a friend. Planned to read it in January. So i actually have no idea why stopped reading some of it. Maybe bcoz i started reading another one than itchy hands forgot about the older one. And oh, i have the ability to read 2 books simultaneously. Not at the same moment but like at a same day but 2 books at diff times. And if its a gift from anyone, i'll definately finish reading it coz i really appreaciate books as gifts :) *To bestfriend, im not angry. Not mad. Just confused at all the mumbo-jumbo. Anyways, i blocked you not because im angry or hate you (i dont do that btw), but because i dont wanna talk to anyone because im bz at that point of time and i know if you see me online then, you will definately chat with me and that i forgot to unblock you after that day (it didnt help that someone told you im online when you see that im not though coz i blocked you). So ya, confusion but no conclusion. So comical. But sorry anyways. :) |
